In celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year - and in support of the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation following the devastating wildfires of January 2025 - Beverly Center hosted a public event honoring Chinese traditions.
 

As a tribute to this occasion, VANITAS unveiled Fortune Snake - a sculptural, 360-degree floral installation embodying symbolism, emotion, and visual power. Naturally coiled, the serpent was crafted from red-dyed palm leaves and lush botanical textures, merging bold color with raw, organic form.
 

Beside it, a companion tree adorned with red silk Chinese knots introduced another layer of meaning. These knots, symbolizing good luck in Chinese tradition, deepened the emotional and cultural resonance of the installation.
 

In Chinese culture, the Snake is a timeless emblem of wisdom and prosperity - guiding virtues for those entering a new year. Fortune Snake offered not only a visual experience, but also a heartfelt wish: that the year ahead bring clarity, inner strength, and evolving fortune to all who pass by.
